Stornoway​

Stornoway (Scottish Gaelic: Steòrnabhagh), located on the east coast of the Isle of Lewis, is the largest settlement in the Outer Hebrides, with a population of around 8000. The town was founded by Vikings in the early 9th century, with the Old Norse name Stjórnavágr, meaning 'Steering Bay'. Stornoway is home to the Outer Hebrides largest airport and seaport, as well as a marina, cafes, shops, an arts centre (An Lanntair) and a museum (Museum nan Eilean).
